This circuit is best accessed from Dar es Salaam. Far away from the horde of tourists; Selous, Ruaha & Mikumi retain the true magic of real Africa. Game viewing can be done on foot, boat or using 4 x 4 safari vehicles. Accommodation in the parks/reserves is generally in small tented camps or boutique lodges. Air safaris are also available due to the distances & poor road conditions.

Selous Game Reserve & Mikumi Park – 4 Nights/5 Days

Pick up from your hotel after an early breakfast and proceed to Selous Game Reserve, which will involve an approximate 6-8 hours drive. Dinner and overnight at your camp/lodge. (L, D). |

2 /3 |
Two full days in the Selous Game Reserve. The Reserve is explored by 4 wheel drive vehicle, boat and on foot. The Selous, famous for its Elephants, was originally set aside as a hunting area where animals are in abundance but more shy then those in the Northern Parks. You will explore discover the Rufiji River by boat, encountering hippos and crocodiles in substantial numbers. Typical of Miombo woodland, bird life is supported by the Rufiji swamplands and is of particular interest with some 350 species having been recorded in the Selous Game Reserve. Dinner and overnight at your camp/lodge. (B, L, D) |

After an early breakfast you proceed to Mikumi Park for Lunch.Afternoon game drive through the Park. Dinner and overnight at your camp. (B, L, D) |

Early morning game drive through the Park. After breakfast, return to Dar es salaam City. (B) |
